When does your baby need a cranial remolding helmet?

A babies head shape is still developing until the fontanelle closes. If your child develops scaphocephaly, plagiocephaly, or brachycephaly, the best time to begin treatment is between 4 - 18 months of age. Book your first assessment at 4 - 6 months.
Scaphocephaly

Scaphocephaly

Is common in babies that spend time in the NICU. The forehead and back of the head may appear square and the head will be longer and narrower than normal.
Plagiocephaly

Plagiocephaly

Is indicated by the forehead bulging on the same side that the back of the head is flattening - think parallelogram. Often caused by torticollis - an uneven shortening of muscles in the neck causing the head to tilt to one side.
Brachycephaly

Brachycephaly

A flattening of the back of the head that makes the head abnormally wide and tall. The tips of ears protrude and the face appears small to size of head.
